A LEGAL CAREER. A BURNOUT. AND EVERYTHING THAT CAME AFTER.
Hi,
I’m Ewa, I spent over 15 years in the legal world — climbing from a small local firm in Poland to international law offices, a demanding role at Samsung, and later, legal counsel at Google. From the outside, it all looked right. On paper, it was a “successful” career. But something didn’t sit right.
The pressure was constant.
And eventually, it caught up with me.
At Samsung, I learned how to navigate a fast, demanding corporate culture. Everything moves quickly, expectations are high, and clarity is rare. I learned to move fast, think commercially, and lead without much guidance. I also learned what happens when you ignore your limits. After four years, I was done. Burned out. I stopped working altogether for almost a year.
When I Returned, I did What I Thought Was the “Smart Move.”
I joined Google. The environment was more global, more modern, and filled with incredibly bright people. I was proud to be there. And yet… I still felt disconnected. I stayed for 2.5 years, then made the scariest decision of my life: I quit.
Building
something real.
I moved to Bali permanently and started over. Not as a tourist. Not as a digital nomad. As someone who was going to build businesses here — and figure out how to make them work.
Together with my husband Adam Piotrowski — who had already spent several years navigating Indonesia from the inside — I co-founded and now co-operate several businesses across the Indonesian archipelago. Adam brings the market access, the relationships, and fifteen years of on-the-ground intelligence. I bring what makes it structurally sound: operations, legal architecture, investor documentation, and the commercial rigour that comes from fifteen years at the sharp end of international law.
Our primary development company, New Life Bali, has delivered dozens of villa and hotel projects across Bali and multiple Indonesian islands — alongside government-scale infrastructure projects in Java and Kalimantan. Our tourism operation, Far Horizon, has served thousands of clients and led over thirty expedition projects in remote Papua.
I also work with a small number of investors and businesses entering the Indonesian market — helping them structure their entry correctly and avoid the mistakes that are entirely predictable if you know what to look for.

What I do Now
I mentor lawyers who are ambitious, thoughtful, and maybe… Tired.
Tired of chasing the next promotion. Tired of being the one who always holds it together.
Tired of wondering, “Is this really it?”
Reconnect with their own direction
Communicate with confidence and clarity
And for some — redesign the legal businesses they’re building
Make decisions from a grounded, strategic place
I work only with corporate lawyers and legal professionals supporting businesses.
That’s the world I understand — and the one I’m here to serve.

This is the work that matters to me.
Let’s Talk
I don’t believe in quick fixes.
But I do believe in asking better questions, slowing down just enough to listen, and choosing something more aligned — even if it feels uncertain.
If you’re ready to explore what that could look like for you…
